The casino

Being the largest floor in the province, River Rock has real depth: a wide table pit, a genuine high-limit room that draws serious players, a busy poker room and slots for days. It plays bigger than the modest hotel around it suggests.

The crowd is a mix of locals, players in from Asia and travellers killing a layover, which keeps the tables lively at odd hours. If you want a proper game near Vancouver, this is the floor.

The rooms

The resort tower rooms are smart and quiet — a cut above what 'airport casino' leads you to expect — with river or marina views and good soundproofing. For a stopover or a low-key weekend they're more than enough.

It's a compact resort rather than a sprawling one, which works in its favour: everything is a short walk, and you're never far from the SkyTrain.

Dining & the extras

Dining spans proper restaurants to a quick food court, there's a theatre for touring shows, a spa, and a marina on the Fraser that gives the place an unexpectedly pleasant edge. A free YVR shuttle makes it a genuinely painless airport stay.

One SkyTrain stop and you're heading downtown, so you can treat it as a base for Vancouver as much as a casino in its own right.

Location & value

For proximity to the airport and a floor this size, the value is excellent, especially if you'd otherwise book a bland airport hotel. It's the smart choice for a first or last night in BC.

Come for the floor and the convenience; stay for how easily it plugs you into Vancouver without a car.

Good to Know
  • Use the free YVR shuttle — it makes this the easiest airport-night casino around.
  • One SkyTrain stop reaches downtown Vancouver without a taxi.
  • Ask for a river- or marina-view room in the resort tower.
  • Strictly 21+ — photo ID checked at the casino entrance.
  • This is an independent review, not a booking service; confirm rates and details with the hotel.
The Verdict

The best airport-adjacent casino-hotel anywhere near Vancouver — a big, well-run floor with a comfortable resort attached.
